📢 Understanding VSLO and Its Impact on RUSM Students
CSGA Connect events are all about bringing you closer to the people and resources that can make a real difference on your medical journey. These sessions feature RUSM faculty, staff, alumni, Program Directors, and other experts who can offer guidance on everything from ERAS prep to clinical success. We usually start with a short presentation, but the heart of the event is the open Q&A—so bring your questions and get real-time answers from those in the know!
Ever wonder what it’s really like to be on a rotation in a specific specialty? CSGA Connect-ing with Clinicals is your chance to find out. These events, open to both clinical and medical sciences students, are hosted in partnership with our specialty interest groups. You’ll hear what’s expected during rotations, how to stand out, and how to get involved with the interest group—plus a dedicated Q&A session to ask all your burning questions.
CSGA Office Hours are your time to stop by, connect, and unwind. Whether you have a question, need help navigating clinical life, or just want to chat—your Site Senators and CSGA leadership are here for you. Even better, we’ll have snacks or food available, so it’s also a great time to socialize, grab a bite, and take a break with fellow students. We’re working to make Office Hours a more consistent, casual, and valuable part of student life at every clinical site. Please use this time to ensure your concerns are being voiced to both clinical leadership, and to directors of the site.
Please be on the lookout for emails from your site senator who will be sharing information regarding office hours and site events!
CSGA has placed all students into Campus Groups in order to curate an email list. You will additionally be enrolled into the current clinical site you are completing clerkships. If you are looking to find your group, please navigate to https://connect.rossu.edu/ and search for your clinical site so that you can be in the know about where you are completing your clinical rotations.

The scheduling system will open to students beginning Monday, June 9, 2025, with students in Semester 10 receiving initial priority. It will open to each subsequent semester every two days, allowing 48 hours of access to each semester prior to the next semester’s students gaining access. All scheduling for these electives will occur on a first-come, first-served basis within this system of prioritization seniority.
All drop requests submitted after 5pm (Est) on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 will be processed beginning Monday, June 23, 2025. Please note that submitting a drop request during the NAY period will restrict your ability to make another elective selection until your active drop request has been completed beginning June 23, 2025.

This is the only time that these electives will be made available during this coming academic year. Please note, you are not required to complete your Match Action Plan (MAP) prior to selecting your electives. If you are a student participating in the 2026 Residency Application Cycle, we highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the attendance policy and ensure you are building a 4th year schedule that will align with residency interview opportunities.
Please plan to be available at the start of your registration window to ensure you maximize your ability to register for these electives.
Please note, any elective scheduled for September 2025 is not eligible to be dropped after Friday, July 18, 2025. Additionally, please be advised that rotations cannot be dropped inside 45 days of the start.

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) is a community of medical students, physicians, and other leaders who have been recognized for their compassionate care. This is one of the societies that is noted on your ERAS applications. Currently, only US medical schools are recognized by the GHHS. Students have taken the initiative to see if GHHS would be willing to expand their breadth of membership to international schools. That initiative has been taken up by RUSM leadership and they have been in communication with the society while they are reviewing documents RUSM submitted.
VSLO- We continue to follow up about VSLO participation but international schools have been denied from participating in this service.
Students should utilize the official Elective Guide for clerkships and follow Ross' policies on participating in away rotations.
TexasSTAR- TexasSTAR is a match data platform (more information HERE) that helps future students to see what it takes to match into certain specialties. A committee has been formed in order to begin a RUSM specific version, our first set of data will come from this years match. We are looking forward to sharing these important match factors with you!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the CSGA elections! We had a solid turnout with nearly 130 votes cast, and we hope to see even more involvement in the future because your voice and opinions matter. Your participation helps shape our community, and we’re grateful for your engagement and support. The President-Elect will be spending the next few months working alongside the current CSGA President to ensure plenty of time for a smooth transition, easing into the role without being overwhelmed and facilitating continuity for ongoing, recurring, and new projects that benefit the entire student body.
Remember, elections for other CSGA positions are scheduled for late April to early May, so stay tuned for more details to volunteer and serve on the CSGA!

A Word from the President Elect for CSGA Fall 2025 Term
Hello, everyone! I definitely wasn’t expecting to run for this position when I started clinicals, but after being a site senator and having friends in CSGA, I’ve really gotten to see how much of an impact students can have in certain roles. During my time as site senator, I learned that in addition to all the challenges that come with being a clinical student with Ross, there are tons of individual challenges that students face every day at their sites, finding/getting approved for electives, and dealing with stressful financial aid issues. I have been fortunate enough to have been on 10+ clubs’ E-boards, serve on SGA/CSGA, been a peer mentor, and more that I feel has uniquely prepared me for this role. Having these experiences has allowed me to understand a wide range of student needs and learn to collaborate with so many different people to try and make whatever positive impact we can. I look forward to being able to put what I've learned to work to benefit the large student body.
I goal is to provide students those opportunities, experiences, connections, etc. that make their clinical experience a positive one and to make them perfectly aware that someone at the university is listening to their needs and trying their best to advocate them. I truly care about making positive, sustainable change for students and all I want to do is make positive impacts for students now as well as for students long after I graduate. Thank you for this opportunity
CSGA Leadership apologizes for the delayed newsletter this month. We have been finalizing some dates for events which delayed the email. We are hopeful your rotations are going well! CSGA continues to have a multitude of events which we are excited to share with you!

Known Medtrics Issue with Final Grades
The CSGA and RUSM is aware of a known issue where Medtrics is not transferring the online curriculum portion of final grades to the registrar. This is resulting in incorrect grades showing up as final grades. The registrar has identified several hundred students that have been affected by this issue and is working to resolve the situation by the end of January. The system has been calculating grades correctly since the end of December. Expect an email from the registrar with more details.
Special note: If you are still concerned about the grade then you should file a grade appeal
Students have 2 weeks after a final grade is posted to file a grade appeal.
If students have concerns about pending grades and graduation audits, they can reach out to Registrar's office as well.

The 2025 Match cycle is almost coming to an end! While some interviews are still happening, many programs are wrapping up and will begin working on rank lists. The OCA and CSGA have plans for hosting events about rank lists, SOAP, and what to expect during match week. Communications will be sent out soon!
Problems with ACGME electives? Issues with a certain clerkship? Clerkship guide not up to date? We will be debuting a form to collect feedback from students, this will be an opportunity to share any issues or questions you may be having with your CSGA Leadership. This form will be displayed at all sites where we have a site senator for easy access. You will also be able to find the form online.
The CSGA leadership has monthly meetings with multiple Deans of RUSM. Let us be your voice to advocate for change!
Please be on the lookout for the email with the link to the form.

Dear Doctor,
As Intealth and its ECFMG division have worked diligently toward the launch of MyIntealth over the past two weeks, we fully recognize that many customers are facing time-sensitive issues. We apologize for any disruption caused by our extended pause in services.
To ensure that our customers have access to critical services, we are restoring our existing systems, and our on-line services are expected to be available tomorrow, Monday, January 29. Users will be able to access all services, including IWA, OASIS, CVS ON-LINE, and our EPIC Portal, to submit applications and other service requests, and to check the status of prior applications/requests. The launch of MyIntealth has been postponed.
While we will continue to prepare MyIntealth for launch, our priority is to ensure that customers have everything they need from us without further delay. We will reschedule the launch of MyIntealth for a later date to occur with minimal impact to those we serve and will provide updates as they become available.
With our systems once again available, we will be working to address time-sensitive issues as soon as possible. For assistance with urgent inquiries and requests, please call the appropriate customer service center. Please visit the Contact page for information. If you cannot call, please send an email with "URGENT" in the subject line so we can prioritize a resolution. Please don't send duplicate messages and only reach out if urgent, so that we meet the needs of those most needing assistance.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any challenges you may have experienced during our extended pause in services. We look forward to providing full support and assistance to all who rely on our services.
Sincerely,
ERAS Support Services at ECFMG - A Division of Intealth
We also want to be clear that the funding for the conference funding initiative never came from Ross University and was 100% supplied by the Clinical Student Governemnt. As mentioned in the video, we are happy that the program was able to help student sand will continue to work on options to find funding for the future of the program.
