ResidencyCAS Guide

ResidencyCAS is a centralized application service used for applying to OBGYN and EM residency in the United States. The intention is the have a more user friendly and cost-effective application service.

Alignment Check Index (ACI)

One of the main goals of the revised application process is to encourage applicants to carefully select programs that truly reflect their interests and experiences. Previously, many applicants relied on a “scattershot” strategy, submitting applications to a large number of programs in the hope of securing interviews and a match. This approach often led to higher expenses for applicants and created an overwhelming volume of applications for programs to sort through many of which were not well aligned with the program’s needs or expectations. To address this, the Alignment Check Index was introduced as an optional resource to help applicants evaluate how well their backgrounds and goals align with the mission and selection criteria of different residency programs.
