January 2023:

• OCA Webinar: Residency Timeline and Tips for Success Recording

January 18: 

• OCA Webinar: CV, Personal Statement and Noteworthy Characteristics

January 26 

• Register: OCA Webinar: CV, Personal Statement Webinar Workshop

March 1: 

• Deadline to submit Noteworthy Characteristics for review to OCA (send NCs on a word document with D#, preferred and/or parallel specialty to oca@rossu.edu)

• Medtrics Portal opens to submit Noteworthy Characteristics and Community Service Info for MSPE Letter (instructions coming in 2023)

May*  

• ECFMG Pathways Open

• Start researching programs of interest. Use the ACGME, Electronic Residency Application Service's list of participating specialties and programs, the Fellowship and Residency Electronic Interactive Database, RUSM's past residency placements and other international medical school residency placements

June 27*

• Obtain your ERAS Token in the ERAS Support Services section of ECFMG’s Online Applicant Status and Information System

• Register ERAS token at AAMC’s MyERAS website. Once you have registered, start submitting your supporting documents

July 1

• Deadline to submit Noteworthy Characteristics and Community Service Info in Medtrics Portal for MSPE Letter

August - October

• Schedule a Mock Interview with OCA 

August (TBD)

• MSPE Letters are sent to students to review for factual errors (OCA waits until the last possible date to generate letters in order to capture as many rotations as possible)

• Supplemental ERAS application opens

August 25*

• Recommended deadline to sit for Step 2 CK prior to have score reported by September 28 application release date 

September

• MSPE Letters are uploaded by OCA to ECFMG/ERAS 

September 6*

• Applicants may begin applying to programs.

• Programs will not have access to review applications until September 27

September 13*

• Deadline to register with ERAS in order to have the Medical School Transcript uploaded by the Registrar

• All students/graduates who register by September 13 will automatically have their transcript uploaded to ECFMG/ERAS (there is no need to request one)

September 14*

• Match Registration opens at 12 pm EST and you can create your R3 account

• NRMP and ERAS are two separate organizations and you must register for both services.

September 15*

• Supplemental ERAS application closes

September 27*

• Residency programs may begin reviewing MyERAS applications, MSPEs, and supplemental ERAS application data (if applicable) in the PDWS at 9 am EST

October - January

• Attend residency interviews. Visit AAMC for virtual interview support

December*

• Students must take OET on or before the last available test date in December. NOTE: OCA recommends taking the OET exam earlier than this prescribed deadline to allow for sufficient time to retake the exam, if needed

January 30, 2024*

• Last day 2023 applicants can submit their Application for Pathways for ECFMG Certification for 2024 Match. Please refer to the ECFMG Certification for 2024 US Residency Match section for more information on which pathway to apply 

January 31*

• Login to R3 to build and edit your Rank Order List. at 12 pm EST

• Medical schools begin verifying student/graduate graduation credentials. Support Guide: Enter and Certify a Rank Order List for Applicants

February 14*

• Last day for the Registrar to submit the electronic Clinical Skills Attestation to ECFMG.

February 28*

• Rank Order List Certification Deadline at 9 pm EST

• Applicant late registrationRR for the Match and SOAP and Match withdrawal deadline

• Medical school student/graduate graduation credentials verification deadline

March 11*

• Match Week Begins at 10 am EST

• Applicant match status and program fill status available (by email and R3 system)

• 2024 Match Week and SOAP Schedule Detail coming in 2024)

• Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program Begins at 10 am EST

• 11:00 am EST: SOAP applicants can start preparing applications in the AAMC ERAS® system

• Applicants and their representatives cannot communicate with a program until contacted by that program

March 14*

• SOAP Round 1 at 9 am EST

  • Applicants receive Round 1 offers by logging in to R3 system 

  • 11:00 am EST: Applicant deadline to accept/reject Round 1 offers

  • List of Unfilled Programs updated in R3 systemSoap Round 2

• Applicants receive Round 2 offers at 12 pm EST

  • 2:00 pm EST: Applicant deadline to accept/reject Round 2 offers

  • List of Unfilled Programs updated in R3 system

• SOAP Round 3 at 3 pm EST

  • Applicants receive Round 3 offers

  • 5:00 pm EST: Applicant deadline to accept/reject Round 3 offers

  • List of Unfilled Programs updated in R3 system

• SOAP Round 4 at 6 pm EST

• Applicants receive Round 4 offers

• 8:00 pm EST: Applicant deadline to accept/reject Round 4 offers

• 9:00 pm EST: SOAP ends with posting of final List of Unfilled Programs in the R3 system

March 15*

• Match Day Results Release

• Applicant Match results available (by email and within the R3 system).

• Medical school Match Day ceremonies

May 31*

• MATCH applicants who decided to go for the 2025 MATCH are required to fill out, certify, and submit the on-line application portion of MyERAS. Your LoRs will not be saved if you do not certify and submit the MyERAS application before the end of the season

July 1
